My 3 wk old baby has red like pimples on his face, maybe baby acne, how can i cure them?

I thought it was heat rash, but they don't go away , he has had them for about a week nowMy 3 wk old baby has red like pimples on his face, maybe baby acne, how can i cure them?
they'll go away it is from hormones and things. And you are not suppose to put any thing on babies face untill they are 6 months just warm waterMy 3 wk old baby has red like pimples on his face, maybe baby acne, how can i cure them?
Hi you have his one month check up coming up, so make sure you ask your doctor, but to me, they sound like baby acne and they only go away with time. My son had them for about a month or two and then they finally went away. You don't want to use any harsh soaps, you could try Cetaphil. A very mild cleaner for a baby's skin. But remember to ask your doctor!!
Of course, I have to say you need to ask your doc. Just call him.

On the other hand, I did ask my doc about my daughter's skin problems. He said ';All babies have skin problems for a few months. It is normal, and nothing to worry about.';
they will go away with time, his skin is still new and adjusting to his environment. Every baby gets this.
it may be chicken pox... you should take him to your doctor or go to the nearest pharmacy and ask someone there.
Why would you ask that question especially when it concerns you baby on the internet?!! Take him to the doctor! Theres NO way anyone on yahoo answers caould predict what that is!!??? What if its not pimples ? what if its a flesh eating bacteria and someone tells to you to put lotion on your baby's face, you do it and he dies? Sorry to be blunt and harsh but come on... it could be ANYTHING!!!!!
stop slop kissing him then and dont let his spit-up sit on him, because his skin is new and it's not used to all that.I know he's adorable and you just want to suck those little fat cute cheeks but you cant
Just wash it with plain water and use very mild soap when bathing your baby so that it wont be irritated. Nothing to worry, it will dissappear soon.
its just as a result of your hormones still circulating in his body they will go away. just bathe his face with cooled boiled water twice a day and try not to use any scented baby products on his face for a while.
My baby has pimples on his chin. Could it be acne?

Yes, it could. Baby acne is very common. It can be present at birth, but more often it shows up after a couple of weeks, usually on the cheeks and sometimes on the forehead, chin, and even the back.

These small whiteheads might be surrounded by reddish skin. They can become more pronounced when your baby is hot or fussy or if his skin is irritated by saliva, spit-up milk, or fabric that's a little rough or that's been washed in strong detergent.

By the way, if your baby had tiny bumps on his face at birth that disappeared within a few weeks, these are called milia and they're unrelated to acne. If the irritation looks more rashy or scaly than pimply or it appears elsewhere on his body, your baby may have another condition, such as cradle cap or eczema.

What could be causing my baby's acne?

As with adolescent acne, there's no clear answer. For some time, experts have pointed to the hormones babies receive from their mother at the end of pregnancy as a cause of baby acne. But researchers continue to study other factors and have yet to agree on one culprit. If you take certain medications while nursing, for example, or if your baby takes certain medications, they might trigger baby acne.

How long will it last?

Baby acne usually clears up within a few weeks, but it can linger for months. If it doesn't clear up within three months or you're concerned about it, talk with your baby's doctor.

What can I do about my baby's complexion in the meantime?

Well, there are some things you should not do. Don't put creams or oils on your baby's skin, because these can make the acne worse. Don't use over-the-counter acne medicines. And don't scrub. Baby acne isn't caused by dirt.

In fact, too much washing can further irritate your baby's skin, so don't overdo the cleansing. Simply wash your baby's face with mild baby soap and water once a day. Gently pat it dry.

Patience is usually the best course of action. Your baby's acne doesn't bother him in the least, so try not to let it bother you, either.
newborn rash. both of my kids had it and it will go away after time on its own. you dont need to put anything on it or treat it in anyway.
